F is for family.
I grew up in New Hampshire, so most of my relatives still live there. My mom and my two sisters have lived there all their lives. I moved up to Vermont thirty three years ago because my husband got a job in S. Burlington. He is a barber.
We have two grown boys and a lot of pets that we consider family. I'm glad to have some of my family that lives nearby, but I visit my N.H. family as often as possible.

E is for Earrings
E is for Earrings
Everyone asks me, "How many earrings do you have?" The answer is, I don't know. I pick up new earrings wherever I go. Sometimes I even make my own. I keep them in a jewelry box, where I can pick out a pair each morning. I try to wear something different everyday, but I do have a few favorites that I pick out more often.
I enjoy having people comment on my selection each day, and hope I will always make them smile with my choices.

D is for ding ding ding
D is for Ding, Ding, Ding....
This is a sound that I hear in my sleep. When our classroom is too loud, a bell is rung three times. This is a job that a different student has each week. It is a very important job because when an adult says three rings, that student rings the bell three times. This sound of the bell is supposed to let everyone know to be quiet. It doesn't always work. Sometimes the bell is rung in many multiples of three. We have to replace the bell sometimes because it gets used ALOT!

C is for Cats
C is for Cats
I have two fuzzy felines. They are brother and sister. Brutus is a long haired tiger kitty with large green eyes and sharp teeth that could take down a large dog. He is very frisky and gets into a lot of trouble. He likes to catch mice ( he only eats the heads) and can jump so high he can catch a bird in the air when it's getting seeds at the feeder. Daisy hides in the bushes and ambushes squirrels when they aren't paying attention because she isn't as fast as her brother. She doesn't eat them, but it's good exercise. You wouldn't guess that from her size. (she is slightly chunky) My cats are an important part of my family.

B is for bread
B is for bread
We make bread almost everyday at school. The students take turns and learn to read and follow directions, measure, and work together. We have made some fat loaves and some flat loaves. One group of students forgot to put in the flour. For some reason their loaf turned out flat.
The smell of the bread baking seems to fill the whole school. Everyone who walks by our room smiles and sniffs at the wonderful aroma. We think every child should experience the pleasure and taste of fresh warm bread.
A is for Angel
A is for Angel
I have a pet chicken. Her name is Angel. She is mostly white, with a little bit of black on her back and toes. She is a fluffy chicken. She even has feathers in between her toes. I was thinking about changing her name to lucky because she had a near death experience. The other day while eating bird seed from the cracks of the porch she was attacked. Out of the blue, there was a gigantic, hungry hawk. With Angel in his sights, he pounced and tried to eat my beautiful girl. His talons scratched her hairy foot and she was bleeding. My husband heard this commotion and ran to rescue her. Feathers flew but the hawk finally flew off. Angel had a couple of scratches that bled for a while, but she was ok. I am a little afraid to let my chickens out of their pen now, but they enjoy it so much.
